HOW TO PLAY

Find your place in the world.

Choose a mode, region and topic above the map. Then select Start game. Each mode saves its own round. Switching modes pauses the previous round.

In Find on the map, choose all places or a random set of 10, 20 or 30. Changing the region, topic or number of places sets up a new round.

Find on the map: Select the country or capital named above the map. Small countries, including Vatican City, have a larger marker connected to their location by a thin line.

Name the place: Enter the name of the place highlighted in blue. Both English and Czech names are accepted, with or without accents.

Name them all: Enter countries or capitals in any order. Use commas to submit several names at once. English and Czech names are accepted with or without accents. Duplicate answers do not count. There is no time limit.

Learn: Select a country or a capital marker to see the country’s name, capital and flag. There is no timer or score. Small countries have larger markers.

Drag to move the map and scroll or pinch to zoom. Use Hint for help and Skip to return to a question later. Pause stops the timer and blurs the map. Press Escape to resume.

Map boundaries: Natural Earth (public domain), country names mledoze/countries (ODbL). The game uses one capital per country. Boundaries follow the source map.
